Alternator belt
Just and FYI.
I purchased a new alternator from MMI recently. I also bought the recommended larger belt, the 26 inch version. With my mounting bracket, this belt was a little too long. Perhaps it works with the aftermarket bracket adjustment sold by MMI. The original belt was 25 inches, just a tad to small to get over the pulley. I bought a 25.5 inch belt from my local auto parts guy, and it fits perfectly. I know the site recommends the 26 inch belt, but on my early A 4 with the new 55 amp alternator, the 25.5 is the way to go. FWIW Skywalker |

I had a similar situation with my alt. belt.
I felt the one that came with the boat was a little too long ( the tensioning bracket was maxed out) so I bought the next size down and I couldn't get it over the pulley. I'll look into that 25 1/2. I didn't know they made one |

I still had my scrap of paper with part numbers on it.
The 25.5 inch belt is Gates 7255, Dayco 15255, NAPA 7255 (i think) Skywalker |

The MMI tensioner does not alter the belt fit in any way. It's a means of getting the proper tension, not too much and not too little.
