v-drive gear lube change?
How often should you change the gear lube in the v-drive unit? Since it is not exposed to combustion by products I would think not very often. Does anyone know the service interval?

I do it once a year (~50 hours).

How do you go about removing the old lube?

I just use one of those Moeller pump type fluid extractors. Remove the dipstick from the V-drive and push the plastic tubing that comes with the pump into that hole. Even though it is thick oil (80-90W), my pump works great. I did warm the oil up a bit by motoring around a bit first.

I would have guessed once per owner...
