I just put my engine into the engine compartment and as soon as it was angled downward on the engine bed, a lot of oil started leaking out into the bilge, maybe a pint or more. It looks like it was coming from the narrowest part of the reduction gear, right behind the output coupling. After the leak stopped, the engine oil level was lower than the "Low" bar on the dipstick.
I noticed that the place where it was leaking is not painted like the rest, so I'm wondering if maybe it isn't put together properly? Is it possible to fix this?
