Ignitor core orientation
I just removed the ignitor round magnetic core "on my delco distributor in
order to lube the flywheel weight mechanism underneath the plate When I went to reinstall the core I discovered that it could slide on in 2 different positions 180 degrees apart. I Checked my installation instructions and it only mentions fully seating it below the rotor around 1/2 inch and nothing about which position it belongs in of the 2 180 degrees apart Does it matter which of the 2 positions it is installed in? Thanks Art |

Just spoke to Ken in parts. He said it makes no difference which way it is oriented as long as its fully seated. Says it never came up before, probably
because they are so reliable no one takes them off Best art |

It's a four cylinder sensor so 180* out would not change anything as there are four trigger points, one for each cylinder.
