    No problem. I have a Raymarine A78 chart plotter running Navionics, and EMTRAK sodtma class B AIS. No problem with AIS, the targets flash red and alarm if they get on a collision course. There are other options but I keep it pretty simple. You can have it give you bearings and CPA as well but I don't bother...we have a lot of traffic in the area.

      However you do it, AIS is worth its weight in gold if you have to contend with commercial traffic.

          I was referring specifically to the iPad app. Last time I tried it, which was a few years ago, the iPad version was quite deficient in how it dealt with AIS targets. If it is improved I will take another look.
          Right now I am running AquaMap. I really like it and thought it much better than Navionics. Then I found this:
          Zooming in and out has the green 3 vanish while both closer and farther out buoys do not. I *really* don't like this at all.

            How's this for a non sequitur; I really wish my I phone had a thermometer. Maybe a nice infrared but ambient at least.
