    Reverse gear adjusting nut

any one out there that's had a problem turning the adjusting nut on the Reverseing gear? Mine will not turn no matter how much pressure you put on it, clockwise or counter clockwise. Am I missing something ?

Without pictures, I'm out of ideas. Can you get some photos? Do you have one of those Wi-Fi cameras on a wand? Not expensive, work with a cell phone.

Could the "locking" spring be jamming it?

        Reverseing nut

Hey, thanks for your reply, I'll try and get some pics. I have had the boat for three years now, and. Never did like the way it backed out of my slip. So looking at the amount of material left on the band , and how far the nut is on its thread, I think the previous owner has jammed the nut as tight as it will go so as to get more bit on the band. Oh and the retaining clip is lose. So it's. A mater of getting the nut lose without damage to the rest of the linkage. I've. Tired visgrips on end of pin to hold it, but doesn't work. Going. To try a little heat on nut.
