Summer went by and no progress to report on Atomic.
I did build two kayaks ( Mill Creek 13) from Chesapeake Light Craft plans.
had family from Alaska and Poland and we had lots of fun with kayaks and 15' Glen L 15 with an outboard.
Tomorrow my mechanic is coming over and we shell look into wiring, gages etc on Atomic....still not giving up on it

here my daughter with two out of 4 grandking........in the background I am zooming on Glen L 15 with more family

2 dogs..your choice of kayak plans is hilarious to me because I am on the Chesapeake Bay and getting ready to think about a PT-11 dinghy kit from Port Townsend, WA.

Those kayaks came out really nice...Okume plywood??

Hopefully Ed's note helped you out with the pics. get them local on your device somewhere so you can upload them to the Moyer site. As an alternative, if your cloud people allow it, you can wrap a link to an external picture with {IMG}pic URL{/IMG}, but use square brackets instead of curly ones.

here - check it. I took your picture links above and used my advice..hit the "quote" button on my post to see the tiny piece of code that makes it all work...

            Hi Shawn,

yes, very funny with the choice of designs
....I wanted a kayak that is stable and simple to build, and friend from Wooden boat forum suggested few designers and picked the Chesapeake.
I love the design - looks like an old kayak !
Yes, Okume 6 and 4mm. They will looks nice when I am done.
Now I can be on the water in 10 min

Here is an early picture with the kayak on my car

2 dog and everybody, I think I learned more about rebuilds on this thread than anywhere else. I really enjoyed reading every post. I appreciate your (2 Dog's) skill set and had fun following your chain of logic. And I really loved someone's comment to let the idea sit overnight and wait for the clear answer. I concur with that!
This old engine and boat are my age and are in better shape. I really dig old boats and well, old stuff.
Well done 2 dog and well done photos.

                Thank you Bill !!!

So today I had my car mechanic working on hooking up all gas and water stuff to the motor. New battery charged, had a water in a bucket.......and after few hours of preparations it happened.........
This little motor runs like a Swiss watch, couldn't be happier. This summer it will be in the water - can't wait to see how this little boat will be running.
Still lots of little stuff to work on - but I can see the light

I am posting this video from my Google + let me know guys if you can see please !!

                Atomic 4 ON !!

                posted link to you tube

I love all the videos of newly-renovated A4s running on test stands in garages! Once you watch one, you'll see a list of other ones pop up on the right side of the page on YouTube.

That's if you have a reduction gear. In straight, "normal" configuration, it's 1:1 in forward and something like 1.3:1 in reverse.

I am highly envious of your engine accessibility.

                          Really ??
I thought that the reduction gear is a part of the transmission...

Not exactly. The reduction gear is essentially a bolt on unit. The reversing gear it bolts to works exactly the same as the direct drive model. There are a few parts that are different, but the differences are all related to how the reversing gear connects to its output.
