Hmmm. Thought it was just a fitting thing. Are you talking a cad duplicate? Can that even be done to be like the cast?

Thinking of taking a slab of stainless and having a tool and die friend machine it to the same dimensions as the early model cast piece.

Maybe do a few mods to the water distribution exits to see if I could improve on the former system.

The biggest problem with the original side plates, both early and late, is the ongoing blasting of the same spots for the last 40+ years. First prize would be to reroute the inlets completely and turn the side cover into a blank. Here is second prize:
