I purchased a Ranger 33 in Port San Luis this past December with the A4 running fine. I’ve since ran into issues getting it started. I cleaned out the carb, changed the fuel lines, installed an in-line filter and electric fuel pump, to have the mechanical pump(original 1976) leak badly. I feel like I need to replace that with a Moyer rebuild and go from there. Not ideal to do this all on a mooring and I am considering sailing around the point to my slip in Morro Bay without the A4 running. In looking for a local legend to mentor me into understanding all that I need to for 1.)getting it to run 2.) equip/replace any component necessary for safe, reliable operation/longevity of the A4.
It truly is a great boat and it pains me the summer is half over and I haven’t sailed it! Tonto was in Hawaii just a short few years ago. Help a brother live out the dream! Obviously, we’ll discuss payment for your services. I hope it can be convenient and fun for the both of us.
