locking pin for reverse adjustment bolt
First of all, I can't stress how awesome this Marin,e this website is. I've ordered parts from Moyer marine and I've watched videos time and time again, and they have saved my sanity. A few years back I bought a fixer upper Catalina 30 with our beloved A4. With the help of these folks I I've been able to get the motor up and running.
More recently I've had issues with reverse, and due to the videos I was able to fix the slippage and now actually have a working reverse. Thank you for that. What my concern is now is that the Locking pin for the reverse adjustment doesn't seem to have any way to actually lock the adjustment bolt in place. At long last my question: can I see a good image of the Locking pin in place? |

Here are a couple of pictures that should help:
https://www.moyermarineforum.com/for...1&d=1690659983 https://www.moyermarineforum.com/for...1&d=1690659031 The photo shows the locking clip at the end of the arrow. It's held in place by a nut and bolt. The drawing shows the clip in side view. The two legs sit on opposite flats of the adjusting bolt and and resist it's turning. There is enough spring in the clip so the bolt can be turned with a wrench or a pin through the hole in the bolt head without removing the clip. If you can't find or make a spring clip, I think I'd just use a lock cut from some sheet metal. Yes, you'd have to remove it to make an adjustment but it would keep the bolt from turning on its own. |

Here's a better scan of a picture in the Paragon Gear manual. Part number of the spring clip MIGHT be 1XK-331A.
