Unhappy What's wrong with this picture?

The forecasted low for tomorrow nite here on the Eastern Shore of Maryland is 42 degrees. That's one degree lower than the forecast for Homer, Alaska (where Russ "Lat 64" naps).

Talking What's wrong with this?

Hi Bill,

Global cooling. The cries and screams about global warming were just a trick to catch us off guard. I live in Naptown and it was cold this AM. Just got back from Home Depot and it looks like they are giving heating supplies away...they're just flying out the door

It's what I call the "ice cream maker" effect. Just as the melting salt and ice mixture in the pail draws heat from the ice cream mix, the melting polar ice caps are pulling heat from everywhere else and freezing us. For a while . . .

Several degrees cooler than usual here in the Maritimes. Makes for cold fingers in blustery winds while winterizing back on the hard, but I am very satisfied with a good first season on this refitted old boat. Thanks to Don, MMI and this forum in no small way.

As for cause of the cool temps, Larry Cosgrove says it is due to "the emergence of a -EPO/-AO/-NAO configuration at 500MB". So there.
http://www.canadianweather.org/forum...ead.php?t=5942. He predicts a brief warming, then "Like it or not, the early start to winter weather is probably going to return during the last ten days of the month. The various computer models agree on a persistent mean 500MB trough over the eastern half of the nation".
