Question Grounding Electric Fuel Pump

Greeting and belated Happy 4th of July to all. Need some help. I installed the MM electric fuel pump and don't have my wiring diagram with me (on the boat). I was having some other work done and the mechanic noted that the fuel pump was not grounded since it was on a bulk head and not on the engine. I thought I connected a wire to the bracket and then to the negative buss but since I'm not there, I can't confirm. Does the connection to the oil pressure switch act as a ground or was I "correct" in thinking I had to ground this independently? Thanks.

The Oil Pressure Switch connects to the Positive lead of the coil.
The pump gets it's ground thru the mounting bracket and bolts.

IF the pump is mounted to the engine (see pic) the mounting bolt is grounded to the engine.
IF the pump is mounted to a bulkhead (see pic) then you'd need to connect a proper ground source (as you think you did) to the mounting bracket/bolt.

Hope that helps...

BD,

That is what I have to do. I pretty much carry my 'boat folder' with me all the time.

If you're really ambitious, you can scan everything into a PDF doc and keep them organized into a "digital" folder on your computer.
Then you'll have both a "portable" version as well as a BACKUP.

I also make a Word Doc that I copy links of topics I want to archive for a quick reference.

But now, I'm completely off-topic! (As usual)
