Fuel Pressure Guage Set-Up

I would like to add a fuel pressure guage to my A4. Anyone have some details to share....what gusge they used, where they got it?

Really happy for last few years w/stainless body, glass lens, liquid filled "Marshall" gauge from ebay -about $20 plus inline adaptor @ a out $12.

I've had good luck with Earl's fuel supply components. The nice thing about Earl's is they are aluminum, anodized and have smooth retention for the hose clamp. However, a well placed and tightened hose clamp is a must for these.

This allows you to pull the hose off without damage, unlike those vicious barb connectors that typically need to be cut off. Removing the hose off a typical barb connectors risks shredding and putting fuel line bits in the carb.

I continue to be happy with my electrical 5 PSI fuel pressure gauge. It has a red light that comes on when fuel pressure falls below 1 PSI.

Sadly the chrome is not salt-water rated, it looks a little beat now. The gauge works fine still.
You need a 5 volt 5 PSI transducer, which they seem out of right now.

Strongly recommend one with a glass lens. Avoid a plastic lens - a drip of gas will mar the lens.
Also, mine was hard mounted to the carb. Made it tough to change carbs as I also had to switch the gauge.
The comment about barbed fittings shredding the hose is good. Just use an 1/8" NPT nipple and cut the threads off one end. Hose to fit (I think 3/8 goes nicely).

I really like being able to see my gauge underway. I have tracked down issues that would have been impossible to figure out if the gauge was hidden.

Hmmm, wish I'd seen that a few weeks ago when I ordered my replacement! How does a 5V transducer work - where do you get the 5V input? Or, is it a 12V input, but a 5V output for sensing purposes?

The 3-wire lead from the gauge supplies the 5 volts.
