Plastic Scavenge Tube?
So, I was messing around with my throttle cable to get my engine to idle at 800 rpm instead of 1000 and was easily able to accomplish this adjustment thanks to info. from this forum. I noticed something strange, however. The scavenge tube that goes from the manifold area to the bottom of the carb has the appropriate brass fittings, but is not a copper tube. It is hard, but flexible plastic - the type that aftermarket oil pressure gauges use. Is this ok? It's been this way for many years, I just noticed it. It doesn't leak.

A plastic scavenge tube is OK as long as it has the same inside diameter as the original 1/8" copper tube.
