Indigo PVC vs. MMI PVC

I am thinking about installing a pvc. The MMI system looks better than the Indigo. However practically speaking, I don't need a new arrestor which the MMI system comes with and Indigo is less expensive. Anyone have a preference on the two systems?

They're both excellent.
It depends on your situation and as you say, whether you need the flame arrestor.
Most on this community seem to have the Indigo, but it's not indicative of the MMI's quality.

Jerry:

Thanks for the reply. I notice you have a Ranger 30. Mine is Ranger 29 any difference? I want to put a bow roller on mine for a V-1 windlass that I have and have been searching for someone who has one on their R 29 who can send me a picture of how they have it set up. To date, no luck. Do you have a bow roller??

Ok, just looked up your boat. I see you have a anchor locker. The design is a little different than the R 29.

I do have a roller. Here's the only pic I can find.
If you want, I can take better ones tomorrow and PM them to you...

MMI sells a carb flange kit without the PVC valve and fittings.The indigo is a complete kit and includes a parts breakdown for valve replacements at the auto store.MMI's flange appears to be the same as contained in the indigo kit.All the cost in MMI's is in arrestor.

I chose the Indigo kit for the same reasons mentioned above....I didn't need the new flame arrestor stuff, even though it looks much nicer than the original.

Hi Jerry,
I have one of those Hunter 260's next to me at my dock too!

Yeah, I actually have another one on the other side three slips down.
They're everywhere!

As a side-note, my other-side neighbor is a Cat-30 and I'm always keeping him informed of your adventures...

Charles-
I spent the weekend cruising and didn't see your reply until today.
I'm heading down this afternoon and will snap off some more pics and PM you with them...

PS - Sorry for the hijacks with Shawn. It's sort of a talent we have...

Smile

No hurry. I have all the goods except the bow roller but no time to put it together right now anyway. We are going to actually use the boat for a long haul this week from Seattle to the Canadian Gulf Islands via the San Juans.

I've knocked out so far:

Oil change kit;
tune up;
belts;
pumps;
new carb;
auto bilge; and

the to do:

Windlass, pvc kit, pump kit and on and on and on......

I PM'd you but can't post pics there. I can email them if you want so as not to pollute this post any further...
