    2 atomic 4 engines $250 each

Time to clean the shed, so I have to send these on their way. I had planned on keeping at least one as a spare, but my A4 is running great, so I would rather see someone who needs an engine have them. These were running take outs, One from my boat. The other One was given to me and came out of a Pearson 30. Good compression, both are raw water cooled. Minus alternators, but everything else is there.

I am willing to crate and ship, or could deliver for a fee if within a couple hour radius of Killington, Vermont. I will also consider offers.

    Wondering if still available

It's been a long time since your post but seeing no replies thought I'd ask: either of these two engines still available? (I run a shop class at a small college on Long Island and we are overhauling and A4; found it has a cracked block, beyond saving.) Looking for at least a decent block.

ĶI just picked up three engines. All were runners coming out of the boats they were in but a part here and there missing. One is a rebuild from Nova Automotive that went in a boat but the owner never finished her refit. That boat stayed on the hard. A few years back the guy sold the boat cheap to get it out of his yard. That owner had another boat at our club so I know the history. My friend helped scrap the boat as the guy had bought it to sell the parts and keel lead. For his effort he was given the engine...it was his spare and he only took the head off it to use on his own boat. Now this guy with the engines in his shed just sold his boat and called me to see if I wanted them...too easy, the works for 300 bucks. He'll back his pickup into my garage on Sunday and we will lift everything out with the chain hoist. The history of that particular engine....I know all 3 guys pretty well. I remember when the engine was done and put in the boat at our club then the owner brought it home to his house to finish.

Right now in the boat I have an awesome 1983 Lake Ontario engine that saw one summer in salt water...installed that one last fall.

One runner backup in the garage...drop in ready to go. The other two engines in there give me a 3rd runner and this incoming Nova Automotive one will be the 4th. The rest of the stuff I'll keep around for parts...reversing gears etc.

EDIT: Attached pics of the engines I just picked up. The one with the head removed is the actual rebuilt one that never went into use. The head was removed and there is light rust on the cylinder walls. Currently seized, so my wife just picked me up some more acetone on her shopping run. I'll mix that with tranny fluid and have that free by tomorrow...just for something to do.
Talk about a stroke of luck. Now I can bank on living to 110 or so and have an engine at the ready. I'm going to have to build an engine stacking system much the same as I have sails laying around. LOL

I guess you're aware MMI sells A4 engines anywhere from "short blocks" to complete engines?

... and welcome to the forum.

With two engines to pick from, you can likely get pretty close to raw ingredients needed for a full rebuild. A good hot tank session will help immensely.
                        Thanks,
