Spare carb storage

Just rebuilt the spare carb which was supplied me by Marion Claire (thanks again Marion!).

So now that it's all rebuilt and ready for use I want to keep it on the boat as a ready spare.

What's a good way to package it for storage and protect it against the salt environment?

Thanks

Use a double sandwich bag.
One inside the other

I use a Food Saver (vacuum sealer) with dessicant packages inside.

I find that the freezer bags are much thicker and more durable than sandwich bags.

Ooooh! I wish I'd thought of that! Great idea.

WD-40 was made for this job. spray it on and then some of the light part will evaporate after a few days leaving a coating. It's not good lube though, just a protectant.

Russ, since you live in Alaska, I KNOW you have a Food Saver! I bought mine at the AC Store in Kodiak in 1997 and have used it for everything from Coho to carburetors. From Sockeye to solenoids. From Pinks to ... nevermind, I never did freeze any pinks.
