Braided stainless as hot exhaust replacement
While putting my engine together today after pairing my exhaust manifold, I pulled the exhaust hose closer only for it to crumble and break. It was an older black pipe type.
In my research to find a replacement, I thought about a stainless welding one or just another black pipe. I saw somewhere on here (can’t find it now) about a replacement hose from McMaster Carr. Also thinking about one of these braided hoses as it would be an easy install due to being blue to be bent in place. Anyone have any insights or experience on these? What do you recommend?

If part of the exhaust pipe has collapsed and crumbled the rest is ready to go and the water injection point is probably plugging up too. Just plain ole time to replace.
Under no condition should you run hose stainless wrapped or not in the hot section! The hose section should be installed well after the water injection and I like to see at least 18" of pipe after the injection point so the exhaust gasses are cool enough not to harm the hose. No real need to paint the hot section with hi temp header paint as the hot section fails from the inside out. Besides the hot section should be wrapped to just past the water injection point as well. Yes, I was referring to a braided stainless style that I saw some one else post about here a bit back. I will just go with good ole iron as it’s easy to find locally and and I need to fix this asap. Thanks guys!
