Accessory drive end play
Gang,
The accessory drive on Aspen has end play. The bearings and race were changed 110 hrs ago. The a-drive that came with the lifelong fw cooled (Lake Erie) engine I got ftom Buffalo has NO play. Wanting to continue to use the rebuilt a-drive (oil level modification also done) does anyone think, besides me, that a washer or spacer of some sort is missing? The pully will actually rub against the body of the drive but will move away as much as 1/16". Just about done with the re-rebuild because of the pinhole in #4. The original block was way far gone. Scrap heap stuff. Hope to have it running by Thursday or Friday. Doug Soden ASPEN Columbia 29 #131 (1965) Little Egg Harbor, NJ |

The parts catalogue does show a washer and lockwasher under the bolt that holds the pulley on the shaft. There is also a thrust collar just behind the distributor drive gear.
