Female threads on inline exhaust water injector

Right now the treads on the inline water injector are 1 1/4" male, which require a coupling to attach at the end of a pipe section. If the fitting were made with female threads, the need for the extra fitting would go away.

Question

Why not go back up to the 45 and install the injector fitting there?
