Basic Question: Stud installation

This is pretty basic question, I guess, but how do you go about installing a stud? Double up nuts on one end or is there a special tool (stud socket?).

I have to install the two exhaust manifold studs...

Thanks,

You got it. Double nut and screw em in. You might want to put some sealant on the front stud, it goes into a water jacket. I think Don recommends a light coat of JB Weld on the threads that are getting screwed into the block This will seal them if they penetrate a water jacket and keep the snug if you have to remove the nuts. Good Luck

Tim,

You can double-nut the studs to install them but please do not overtighten
them. Most engine shops recommend only a half turn past fully seated.
