      Guages

My Atomic 4 gas wiring dragram from the 70s showes the wiring poles as +, -, and G. The new Veethree guages are labled S, I, and G. I have the G just need to make sure which is + and which is -? I am thinking the I is + but want to make sure.

In my experience, "S" typically connects to the sender (hence the "S").

        "G", I believe, should be the "-".

Those two should be all that is needed for the gauge to function, typically.

Is it a lighted gauge? I've seen some with an extra lug for a little light bulb inside.

Hmm, I am not familiar with Veethree gauges, but looking at http://www.veethree.com/oil-pressure-gauges.html I suspect:
S means wire to the sender.
I means wire to the ignition circuit (DC "+" when ignition key is turned to on).
G means "-" or DC ground.

But it isn't clear to me from the diagram on that web page. I can see why you're puzzled.

Thanks Bill, My guages have three post, I, S, G. What is the I considered to be? My manual shows the old guages to be, +, -, and G. Wires were just hanging loose when I bought the boat.

CC27, I did look at the link. It made more sense than what I have. Thanks
