Polishing Filter P/N?
Running out of time, need to try to find a 10 micron 5/16" hose barb metal polishing filter. Moyer has one that's 7-10 micron. Everything at local parts stores is 20 micron, ie WIX 33012.
O'Reilly's has WIX 33097, but it has a different type of connector, sort of a push on? Marine store has Baldwin BF836, but there's no specs anywhere on it. I'd order from Moyer, but am leaving next week. Does anyone have any p/n for a 10 micron gas polishing filter? TIA, Jack |

I don't have different brand or p/n but I would not loose any sleep using the 20 micron temporarily for your trip in addition to any other filtration you have in your set up. I'm not an expert but most filter/separators between the tank and the pump that I have seen are in 10 t0 40 micron range. If you have an electric Facet fuel pump there is a protective filter in their as well. Don't get me wrong, a polishing filter is recommended. I ran my early model A4 for 35 plus seasons without one [did have the old style cast iron zenith carb] before adding one. There are many late model A4's in my harbor with out one as well.

O'Reilly's did another search and came up with an 11 micron model - MGD 33095. It's a little physically smaller, but seemed to work ok.

If your fuel supply is clean, do not freak out about the filter.
I haul E-zero gas to the boat in jerry cans whenever possible. If you can't do this, my suggestion would be to run as much of that E-10 junk thru the system before you can long term storage the boat (winter). A 5/16" canister filter will not solve a bad fuel problem.

The biggest problem I ever had with "stuff" in the carb was corrosion products that where being created in the carb and no amount of filters would have helped.

You can find a couple different sizes of the part that RC showed from Amazon if you can't wait for a Moyer order. I have found 4 packs of 5/16" hose barb 10 microns on Amazon with a little searching.
