Removing engine control cables

This is not strictly A4 help request, but we removed the fuel tank in our '76 C&C 33 mk1 to clean it and go thru our fuel system. With fuel tank removed, we decided to do some maintenance on steering and engine control cables. Elsewhere on this site, I've discovered we need Telemorse 6400 cables. HOWEVER, we cannot figure out for the life of us how to remove the engine control cables, notably the clutch cable. We have removed it from the large clevis at the transmission end (clevis needs replacing). The Edson pedestal is as dismantled as we can see to do it, but we cannot figure out how to get to the clevises at the wheel end (both of these need replacing and we're trying to replace the cables as we've no idea how old they are). The cables run through the legs of the pedestal guard. Edson has been no help, trying to sell us a new pedestal and control system. Pictures are attached and any help appreciated. Thanks much!

Red face Pics to big

Looks like a factory cobble job using some Edson parts. You may need to separate the "tubes" from the Edson parts once the wheel is removed. I've seen stuff in place like that where the housing was placed over the controls and everything gets snugged up/assembled once slid over the controls.

Someone witha C&C should recognize the "unit" and offer better help.

Shawn can help you to get the pics reducer for easier viewing. Perhaps some shots from more angles.
