Exhaust make up question

Hello A4 people! I am building an exhaust and have placed the water er injection point lower than previous design and almost exactly the same as Edward C had kindly posted pictures of that I am attaching here. The difference with mine is that it only leaves a 4 inch piece of the 1 1/4" rubber hose entering the stainless WL muffler. I don't think that would be a problem but if there is any reason the rubber piece should be longer could anyone shed light on why? Thanks, Mike

Once the water's injected, the exhaust temp should be reduced, so any length of rubber hose should be fine, as long as you can physically manipulate it into place. If the hose is really short, you may be forced to clamp it onto the hot stack first, slide it down onto the waterlift, and then attach the hot stack to the manifold.

This may be difficult if you are using studs on the manifold (recommended) rather than screws.

I do have it all together with the short hose but just wanted to check if going to any specific length of rubber hose was advantageous as most pictures show about a foot to 18 inches going into WL. Thanks for all your help Edward. I am about ready to fire the ol engine back up having done a valve job, new manifold, head gasket and put your excellent recommendations into use including the vented antisiphon loop and controling ball valve on line from wj to tstat housing. Can't say enough about the great people on the forum and the willingness of everyone to help each other out.
