Petronix Distributor lock down
Hi I’m installing a Moyer fab Pertronix replacement distributor. The old distributor had a collar that screws to the block and has a lateral tension screw to lock it in place. This replacement distributor has an aluminum collar that interferes with complete seating. See photo.
What is the common resolution? I do have a grinder and can modify the hold down bracket to fit without taking more than an 1/8 inch of material out of the center of the bracket to resolve interference but perhaps there’s a common solution for this. |

My engines are all the newer block with a chevy style lock down clamp. Adding a tapped hole would not be hard to convert to the new style, but I would give Ken at MMI a call to get their official recommendation. This will not be Ken's first "new distri / older block" rodeo. ;^)
