So is the push rod still in there?

Did big 360s used reverse. Tested doing bursts of throttle. At first I thought the engine had no power . I was kinda bummed, but now I am very very happy. Every thing is so smooth I mean its seamless from idle to gear. No bogging or lagging in the throttle acceleration. I think I may have a small exhaust leak or intake leak. I hear a very very slight hissing.
With the engine running pour a cap full of MMO in the carb. You'll get a cloud of smoke out of the exhaust and it should make any exhaust leak obvious.

          Slight hissing?
Does this video give you any ideas about where to look, aside from an exhaust leak?

Hissing noises are usually related to the intake, carb or vacuum leak.

Exhaust leaks are usually a spitting sound.

Thanks, and is there anything I can do to prevent a fire? I noticed the engine compartment is super warm. Would adding a heat wrap on the hot part of the exhaust help? Maybe install some sheet metal in the engine compartment? Or overkill?

First what is the engine temp and are you sure of your gage? Do you keep your fan on during operation or not?

Indeed the "hot portion" should be wrapped. Our host has it.

160-180 . My blower fan? No I turn it off after start. I must have wrapped it wrong last time because I had noticed some smoke from the heat wrap.

IF the heat wrap was NEW then it is normal for it to "Off Gas" (smoke) for a while.
Keep hatches open until it settles in.

Ok my friend was saying there's some sort of puddy that roofers use. Could I apply something like this to possibly plug up leaks?

NO. If you have a leak you need to find it and fix.
Or, better yet, replace the entire exhaust.
