Vibrations when in gear

Hello everyone, the boat is finally in the water, everything is fine with the engine in neutral.
But when I put it in gear it has a bad vibration.
Not sure where it comes from and getting down to the shaft, well you know how much space there is down there.

Mine is the direct drive with reversing gear
Thank you in advance
Fred

Check to see if something got wrapped around the prop. If nothing is on the prop the shaft may be bent. You should be able to see the wobble while looking at the packing gland inside the boat if the shaft is bent. it could even be the engine missing while under the load of being in gear.

Is the vibration the same in forward and reverse?

I also suspect bent shaft.
Any chance the straps were under the shaft the last time you were hauled? If the bend turns out to be between the strut bearing and the hull, you know where the blame lies.

Could it be a possibility that the hull shape changed while the boat was out of the water causing the shaft to be out of alignment. I would think this would be a small chance but it can happen. Might just need some time in the water to get it's form back. Either way, check the alignment.
