Tom Cloutman from Marblehead was recommended to me but I've never had the need for a mechanic for my A4 (knock on wood). If I were to need a mechanic, I'd start with him.

Big Eye,
Before you get a mechanic try and loosen up the valves with marvel mystery oil. Take the plugs out and squirt a bunch in and let it set for a while. I think the reason the valves stick on the a-4 is because the engine was designed to operate with leaded fuel which lubricated the top end of the motor. What we should all be doing now is running some MMO in the gas. These are really simple egines and you may not need anything other than some mmo in the cylinders. After you squirt the mmo in the cylinders and youv'e let it sit for a day or 2 try to turn it over for a while. (remember if you crank on the engine for any length of time without it starting close off the water intake until it starts) Please remeber to re-open the water intake if it does start. Anyway give it a try you maybe surprised with the results. dvd |
