F/W Running hot after repair/upgrades

My F/W A-4 is running hot after making some repairs/upgrades . It normally ran at 165-180 and now runs at 190-210. The repairs and upgrades should have made the cooling more efficient, not less.

REPAIRS/UPGRADES
1) Replaced Accessory Drive and Water pump with new Moyer units.
2) H/X cleaned/flushed, replaced leaking end plate gaskets, replaced zinc.
3) Replaced short hoses to/from thermostat (removed thermostat to do job, new gasket)
4) R/W pump rebuilt by Oberdorfer and reinstalled.
5) Replaced and re-routed R/W water hoses that had kinks to improve flow.
6) Replaced coolant with new 50/50 mix (Green).

Any ideas or suggestions on the cause(s)?

F/W running hot

I seem to recall Don writing somewhere that raw water cooled engines often run cooler (less efficiently) then FW plumbed systems. You will have to search the forums for this though.
Did you change the thermostat? I believe that we use a 140 degree thermostat on our raw water cooled engine and there is another model available that works at 160 or 180 degrees.
Good luck.

Did you clean, check out, and replace the thermostat?

No, I did not. I guess I figured all was well before the changes, why wouldn't it be after. I'll take it out and test it.

I also thought that a failing thermostat ran colder not hotter. Faulty memory and logic on my part.

Thanks Don.
