Yes, you did..I understand now.

Might be a few things of interest if you part out the old boat.

Good luck with the new project! It probably has a smelly diesel, eh?

Ok, since this is a nice close knit community, some more pics of the traveler system. Mine has the pin stops that I hate. I am always trying to figure out a good way to make it easier to adjust with some line/blocks like you have without replacing the entire system with a high $$ Harken or similar.

Also, my tiller bracket & head are not shiny chrome anymore..they are green bronze..Oh, also, I have (had) the chrome top for the Nicro solar vent that went flying overboard...so maybe a vent...or just the nice shiny cover...

Sorry the P.O. made a wreck of the rudder..that doesn't make sense to me. I see you have a bowsprit..Standard or tall rig? I don't really see a reason for a bowsprit except to have a nice place for a bow roller...

We might have to talk offline!

Shawn,

Rudder was shot. I had to rebuild it.
The traveler works but not great under load. Its an old curved style. I'll get more pix for you.
There is no solar on the boat. There is a vent cover that is chrome. It has a wire mesh in the middle. Is this what you need?
Boat is TRBS hence the bowsprit. Bobstay is a PAIN when mooring.

Val

Val
Val, Your vent must be the pre-solar passive type. It works, but not what I need.

I scanned thru the pics and now see that the rudder went thru a major transformation.

I have the STD rig, so a TRBS would not work real well..interesting that the TRBS headstay still fits inside the old school pulpit, regardless of rig configuration. I was thinking about increasing sail area when I had a new genoa built in a few years with a bowsprit, but I can see the issues related to the bobstay. I might just stick with what I've got.

From the cryptic posts I'm guessing that this "parting" isn't a happy affair. If that is the case please accept my condolences for whatever let to the decision to do so.
A little over 4 years back, when I was forced to give up beachcat sailing due to a big change in my mobility, I parted out my Prindle 19. She, Badabing, was a sweet boat that I had spent much more than reasonable in improving her. Over the winter when I was laid up the boat storage yard mysteriously "lost my trailer, Badabing was on the floating dock. Without the trailer selling her, as is where is, was a loosing proposition. Frankly I couldn't have gotten what her sails Pentex sails were worth. So when I could I started pulling her apart and selling her part by part. It was a hart breaking experience. But the silver cloud was that I ended up getting about 25% more that I would have hoped for if the trailer had not been misplaced and if I sold her together. A few months later I found the remains of the trailer in a marsh area next to the boat yard. Someone had cut her off her catamaran rollers, the storage box and tossed the unwanted parts, along with the beach wheels in the weeds. So I was then able to sell the beach wheels as well also.

Sorry for hijacking the thread.

If you are parting out the C30. where is she and what do you have to sell? Im also in NJ,
Little Egg Harbor.
Im looking for
Freshwater cooling
A jib furler Im adding a forsail behind my 155 Genoa roller

Them is the biggies for the T30

Thanks
Bill

Bill, No this is not a happy affair. I will probably cry the minute I put the saws-all blade on her. This was my first boat I "stole" after Sandy. The yard was selling it for 5 years before Sandy and after that they lost all hopes. On and off I put over two years of work and thousands of dollars to make her safe and sail well. In the end it was a man cave because I only focused on safety and sailing characteristics and never on aesthetics but it was the best shipwright school . Education is never free. And sail she did!! But unfortunately, the boat was only good for few guys to sail in the bay with beers and a beef jerky but not for wife and our two kids. None of the amenities ever worked, etc.

Long story short, I am trying to recoup at least 40-50% of the money I put in. Selling it as-is most likely will only attract buyers who will part it for profit anyway.

I am in central jersey. About 10-15 minutes from Raritan Bay (Perth Amboy). You are a little south of me.

PM me about the furler. I have Harken MK II

As log as it is fixable that is great. I purchased my first sail boat and don't like the steering wheel setup, the steering is in the middle and takes up a lot of room in the cockpit, especially when the family is aboard so I am going with the tiller setup. What do you need to get for the set up. I live in Ct and could pick it up if that is OK. Are you parting the boat out, maybe their is other parts I need?

Thank you
Ed
