reversing bar

Hi
As I was coming into the pump out station I lost the ability to engage reverse. It appears that the reversing bar has released from the shifting yolk. Would like to know if there is anyway to persuade it back into position ?
thanks

Don't know if it is helpful in your case or not, but Moyer has a Kiminsky (sp?)
mod which provides for drilling, tapping and plugging a hole in order to remove
the shaft. Check it out elsewhere on this site. naturally, you don't want
drill shavings to fall in transmission.
Best Regards
Art

Rob,
There seems to be a couple of things going on here. First, there is some safety wire holding the reverse band strut in place rather than the normal 5/16" dia. alignment pin. Most likely that pin worked itself loose and someone did a temporary fix with the wire. Secondly, the reverse "locking bar" kind of floats in position along side that brace while being held in place by the outward pressure of the reverse band spring. By putting the shift lever in the most "neutral" position that you can find, you should be able to re-insert the dislodged bar tab into the hole in the shifting yoke.

Rob, Moyer has an 'improved' one with a cotter key of some sort to help keep it in place.

I have one, but haven't installed it yet...

Make a list and add that to your order
