Sizing a new Centek Vernalift
I know that my old Vetus is, well, old. I put in a whole new hot section out of black iron pipe a couple months ago and discovered that the inlet fitting on the old Vetus not only has been cut down and is in pretty sad shape (and also has a restricted opening, due to a crud buildup), but it also is the wrong diameter for the new hose that correctly fits the new black iron hot section.
I'm assuming the old Vetus similarly is full of built-up crud, and the hose from the hot section is not fully sealed on the Vetus inlet, so it spits a little water into the bilge. I figure the time has come to throw the old thing out and put in a new Centek Vernalift. So - I look at this table. I need one with with a 1.63-inch inlet. There are three with that inlet size, the differences being diameter and height. So how do I determine (other than what physically fits in the space) which one is best for my engine?

Bill,
Among the three available for your hose size I would go for the greatest volume pot you can fit.

That's what I was thinking. Just wanted to check to be sure there wasn't something more to it than that - thinking about volume of water to be pushed up the hose and backpressure and all that...
