Carb/fuel system problem
Ahoy me hearties.... still no love between Big Agnus (my A four) and me. OK... so have taken the carb off cleaned it, new seat, new gasket.... she starts run 15-20 seconds and then shuts down. She then cranks but won't start... she tries but can't seem to catch... throw me a bone.
(Old style carb on early model engine) Thanks, Ang BTW... more info... when I orginally put it all back together it would run but not at low RPM which lead me to believe I probably had a vacuum lean, so I took it off again and put Permatex on both sides of the gasket and now.... there is NO LOVE! |

How many times have you tried to start it? Is the start, run for 15 then will not start a one time attempt or does that happen after leaving for a day or so an retrying. Do you have a low oil pressure cut off, electric or mechanical pump, primmer bulb, gas shut off, filters and where are they are located? Have you verified flow to the carb? Are the plugs wet/dry after cranking? Dan S/V Marian Claire

Here are a few other Troubleshooting "helpers" from Don.
Run thru these procedures and then post more info. (Oops, just noticed Rigsy's link is to the same PDF's. Oh well, you get it twice) Last edited by roadnsky; 06-25-2009 at 09:18 AM. Reason: Should'a checked Rigs' link |
