1976 RWC A4 Overhaul - oil pump gasket?

While I'm in there I took my oil pump apart. Extremely simple mechanism! The thin paper gasket is toast and I don't find a direct replacement.

1) What thickness gasket paper should I use to create a new one?
(BTW - no slop or discernable wear in the gears and everything fits snug - oil pressure was good before I started the overhaul)

2) the rubber cover for my oil-pressure-sender is dried out and cracked. Is there a specific replacement? Sender works well.

Thanks,
DaveL

Dave:

Is this it (261009)?

If yes, click here.

I found that number in this old parts list catalog (pages 40 and 41).

Hello Dave.

In addition to Bill's link, you may find this information from MMI's instructions for installing an oil pump helpful. Notice that two thicknesses of gaskets are supplied, and that the .005 gasket is replaced with the .009 version depending on fit.

Jack.

-------------

Here's the instruction sheet:

1) Remove the small roll-pin which secures the large forged drive gear from the oil pump drive gear shaft and tap the large
forged gear from the shaft.
2) Remove the 4 back plate retaining screws and remove the back plate and the oil pump gears and shafts.
3) Mill the inside face of the back plate if it has wear marks from the oil pump gears.
4) Re-machine the oil pump gear cavities to the new diameter and depth as shown on the attached shop drawing.
5 Reassemble pump using new gears and the gasket with a nominal thickness of .005”.
NOTE 1: If the hub of the gear rubs against the front of the back plate, remove it and file a small amount of material from the
hub of the gear to provide .002” to .003” clearance between the hub of the drive gear and the back-plate.
NOTE 2: If the pump does not turn freely after reassembly, use the gasket with a nominal thickness of .009”.

oil pump gasket

YES! thank you Bill and Jack.
- that is the one. I should have thought to look through the old parts list.

Special thank you Bill, for hunting up that source!

-DaveL

PS - I was wrong - took a closer look at the complete gasket set I have. This gasket IS included!
Apologies for the fire drill and thank you again for the parts list and the source.

Dave.nice update that you found everything.
A reputable member of this forum once commented that a $1 bill is about the best waterproof gasket material ever made. If the dimensions work, you could cut a dollar bill and it might work.
