Sealer for water pump flange gasket

I hope everybody is enjoying the last few days of summer!

As I go to reinstall my water pump, I'm curious to know which sealer I should use on the flange gasket -- Permatex aviation goop, or the aerosol copper spray? I know in Mr. Moyer's "Gasket installation instructions.pdf" he suggests the Aviation sealer in general, while in the Cooling video he recommends the copper spray for the back plate gaskets. Would the same be true of the flange gasket?

I'd rather use the spray, though if I were to use it, is there a trick to ensure the gasket would remain attached to the pump the next time I remove it? I am blessed with good access to the pump but I see no reason to make more work for myself later on.

To make sure the gasket comes off with the pump coat the pump side of the gasket with #2 Permatex and the engine side with wheel bearing grease.
