Sure looks like the hatch seals on my boat. There is a piece of rubber molding that goes in the groove and sticks up a bit higher than the groove. My boat was built in 1979 and still has the original rubber moldings. They have worked well and sealed totally. The rubber molding needs to be secured with a bit of silicone glue\sealer so it doesn't lift out of the groove when the hatch is opened..
