Small Gas Tank
This is a re-post of a prior:
Years ago I decided to not worry about stale gas and condensation. I drained the onboard gas tank that holds about 30 gallons. Then, I got a sturdy five gallon gas...

Fresh Water Contrarian
I guess that I am always the contrarian around here. Let's face it, many A4s with raw water cooing have been around for almost fifty years and survived just fine. I like things simple. Adding FWC...

Be Happy
If you are getting to hull speed at 2100 rpm, why worry. Boats will not power much if any beyond hull speed anyway. I suspect that you cannot get more rpms only because your boat is moving hull...

Time to Fix Rather than Replace
Instead of $500 including shipping I would do all possible to repair. Stainless steel bold and bushing? I would look hard at repair before plunking down that amount of cash.

I had a similar problem, but solved it by simply relocating the choke control from the panel where originally installed. I moved it inside a lazarette that provided straight cable run to the carb. ...

Sorry to disagree. I installed a T fitting in the water intake line many years ago. I feed this with a "pressurized garden hose" regularly, but I have installed a garden hose screw-on valve (about...

Perfect! Flooded Carb
Good job with sharp eyes. My experience is that a flooded carb due to float, or in your case needle valve/seat will snuff out an engine just as you described.

Arcing
I would go to auto store and buy some high voltage wire, maybe slightly larger gauge than you have now. Then simply make new wires with brass connectors and replace the arcing ones. Electrical...

I suspect that the float is flooding out the carb.

Internal siphon tube
Right, the "siphon" tube is internal and is a "pick up" tube extending to the bottom of the gas can. I used a piece of 1/4inch copper, soldered onto the fitting that I installed in the top of the...

Tools and Supplies
With all of the stuff suggested, be sure to get an "Ace Hardware" sign to hang on the outside of your boat. Then you can make a little money selling stuff whenever you get dockside! :)
