Thanks, and is there anything I can do to prevent a fire? I noticed the engine compartment is super warm. Would adding a heat wrap on the hot part of the exhaust help? Maybe install some sheet metal...

Alright so I went and reset the timing. Took me three tries. There's still some smoke, but much less at idle and I'm mainly only seeing it when I put a load on it in gear.
