Wouldn't necessarily rule out the coil altogether, just put it farther down...

I think you've got it right. Whatever the write-ups say, can't remember if it's a full quart or so many oz. per quart of oil. I would pull out a bit of oil to compensate for the extra volume...

Sounds like you've got good compression, 3 outta 4 ain't bad.
Spark should be a crisp blue snap able to jump ~1/4" to ground.
Gas is fresh and plugs smell of gas...

As I understand it, ethanol is a "negative sum" energy source, as in, it takes more energy to turn corn into fuel than that fuel provides. Makes no "logical" sense to use it, but with x% of trillions...
