Don,
Thanks for the reply, much appreciated.
It took approx. 300 mL (10 oz) to fill the unit to mark on dipstick.
I will be keeping a close eye on the level, as it didn't "decay" over 20...

Hello folks!
While doing my pre-start/ pre-launch check today, I found the oil level in my V-drive to be below the dipstick?
I can't figure out where it went? No signs of a leak.

Water in oil....hindsight

My water in oil problem, of a couple of years ago, turned out to be one of those failed rotten little 1/4" pipe plugs behind the valves!
Trouble was , I didn't find it until the engine was pulled,...

Yes, I agree, a broken bowl (plastic or metal) would be big trouble for sure!! I'm just a bit confused at this "user friendly" version is OK for outboards and not for (more protected) inboard...

I picked up my Racor today,and it looks great. It has the clear bowl for visual inspection, and a neat little stopcock, to easily & safely drain off junk.

Only one problem: The "blurb" says NOT...
