A few months back I was engaged in the exercise of rebuilding a fuel pump which led to buying a rebuilt fuel pump which led to a leak in the sediment bowl and ordering gasket and stainless bale.

Found a hole in the top of the casing that holds the diaphragm. Odered a rebuilt unit and have spent five hours hanging over my A4 from the flywheel side trying to rebolt...

Yes the fuel was spurting out the top of the fuel pump. I guess it does sound like a rebuild kit for the old girl. Sunday is maintenance day I guess ... I would rather be sailing :(
