A thought on A4 repairs and thanks all!
Early Thanksgiving Shout-Out:
I recently had an ignition problems with my engine. I was able to search this forum and find out a couple of things I needed to know about setting the timing that I didn't have memorized and I am back in action. The total repair cost was some hours of my time and $22 :D The collective knowledge on this forum literally makes the difference between these old antiques being viable engines or not. If I had no recourse but to call a mechanic, I suspect I would have been lucky to be running again by the next year, out a lot of cash, and that is assuming I could find anyone that would even work on it and then if they did work on it wouldn't just make it worse and suggest a new engine installed for $23,000. |
