    Salt Gone Engine Flush

Has anyone tried the (heavily advertised) Salt Gone product for engine flushing instead of using muriatic acid? It says a lot of good things...

Aaron, I have not heard of it but I had very good luck using vinegar instead of the acid. You just need to let it sit longer. Also instead of smelling foul the boat will smell like a "salad" and you can just hook the hoses back up and run it out without worry of fouling the environment.

I used to use white vinegar to descale my tankless water heater in my house. Its not as harsh as muratic acid and works really well. You can buy "industrial" white vinegar at Lowes/Home Depot/Menards.
