Thanks for that information. After replacing the seals it runs about 130. Previously it ran at 160. If I use a infra red engine thermometer do I shoot willy nilly or are there certain spots to check.

After deciding it was a fuel problem, I dropped the carb cleaned it with cleaner, cleaned the jets, even bought a 3/16 wooden dowell to seat the float valve. Changed the polishing filter and the...

Thanks guys I need to replace my solenoid and it ain’t coming off. So I figure I can drop the starter and take it off in the shop. I sure appreciate the help.

I am going to replace my solenoid.it is connected to the starter. Do I have to buy a new rubber gasket.? Anything I should know. I plan on removing the alternator to give me better access.

Gotta love the A4, took the carb off cleaned it and put it back on, runs like a champ. You don’t have to be an expert to work on these engines.
