After solving the ignition issues with a new coil, points, condenser and rotor. The late model engine starts just fine. The problem is the engine goes from dead stop to wide open in a manner of seconds. I have adjusted / disconnected the throttle cable, in which case I moved the throttle lever by hand. When I move the throttle lever by hand I can here a very small change in engine rpm but nowhere near normal.
Does anyone know what might cause this runaway rpm condition? Thanks in advance.
