Hello, Sorry for the delay. I don't frequent here as much as in the past.
What are some of your questions?
Also, have you found the book by Harry Sucher "Simplified Boatbuilding" The V Bottom boat?
Another is the video on youtube, where Billy Moore is building a Deadrise one at a museum?
Dear Daniel,
I hope this finds you and yours doing well. My apologies for this unprompted message.
I came across this forum and your profile when researching deadrise skiff construction. My in-laws live at the north end of the Chesapeake and I've been infatuated with these beautiful work boats since seeing one for the first time many years ago. Now, I'm planning to build a 20' version at my home in Massachusetts.
I've read every book I can find on the subject and watched every video. As these boats are built by rack-of-eye, some aspects of their construction elude me. I wonder if you might be willing to share some of your experience and endure a few questions in the hopes of setting me in the right direction. Please let me know if you might be willing to lend your insights to a fellow enthusiast and hopeful builder.
I appreciate your time.
Thanks and Kind Regards,
Kris
Hi Daniel, I have a similar boat size and shape to yours and would love to pick your brain about how you got the performance from your A4. I'm stuck at about 7 knots at 2000 RPM.
