    This is all very helpful.

1.) I will get the fuel gauge (and t-adapter) asap to get a reading on my current set-up
2.) Based on the results, I will then order the Facet filter, polishing filter and OPSS

The OPSS install is unclear to me right now, but I will look at the block when I am at the boat next.

    Thanks Peter.

the OPSS installs in a port in the block near the back end of the engine on the manifold/carburetor side

Fuel pressure gauge - this is an excellent diagnostic tool and you may want to install one before you replace the pump as at the moment you are guessing that you have too much fuel pressure. You want a metal gauge - not plastic - in case of a fire in the engine compartment. A plastic gauge would melt and then supply gas to the fire. Aircraft spruce seems to only have plastic ones.

    Hope that helps,

    Jeff,

The OPSS is an oil pressure safety switch. The electrical supply to the fuel pump goes through the switch. If you lose oil pressure the fuel pump shuts off and the engine then runs out of fuel and also stops. This switch is required by US Coast Guard - not too sure for Canada. Regardless, it is a sensible thing to have as it protects your engine in the case of oil pressure loss.

you need to check which terminals are open with no pressure and close when there is pressure. Put the switch in-between the +ve terminal on the coil and the fuel pump.

Polishing filter - they are very cheap and easy to install so yes.

Can you tell me what OPSS is? Perhaps it is the gauge.

For a fellow Canadian - Facet fuel pumps can be found at aircraftspruce.ca - https://www.aircraftspruce.ca/catalo...cetgoldflo.php

    Part number 05-10835

OPSS - quite a few on Amazon

    Peter

PS - they also carry the facet “cube” pumps that are less expensive. These pumps were discussed here https://www.moyermarineforum.com/for...ght=Facet+cube
