    Yeah, probably. Is the material you're talking about called RTV? It should work. You can also buy stock sheet goods gasket material at any auto parts store and cut out your own. Either way the worst that could happen is an oil leak.

    Hey all. I am new to this form so I hope I can negotiate this site ok. I have a Catalina 30 with water in my oil. Not sure where it came from, but the motor still starts. I have cleaned out the initial water and refilled with new oil. I am unable to pump it out it is so thick so I took the boat out yesterday and my plan is to pull the motor anyway.I figured because of its age (1977) its time for an overhaul. My question is this. Can I mount this motor on a regular motor stand to work on it... or is there an easier way to work on it.
