The shut-off for fuel a must on these 30s...the carb is easy to clean up. Takes me about 20 minutes start to finish if I bring my air compressor down to the club.

Re: TEMP ... Try closing the the valve about 1/2 and see how it works for you. Run her for at while and see what happens. I have heard people commenting that it takes time for the engine to heat up. Have you noticed the temp guage move higher / lower with the opening and closing of the thermostat? That would indicate T-stat is functioning.

When the valve is closed off a bit, it allows less water to the head. I would NOT close it all the way though as the head still needs water to cool. The partial restriction caused by the partially closed valve forces more water through the block and the engine supposedly runs cooler.

    All the best.

All that said, I live in NS and have never had to do is just what I read on this forum but it makes sense to me.

You will be in the water a full month and a half before the normal launch around here. That is a great sailing season. I would normally go in mid April, still cool outside then, however might have to defer a week or so this year. Just had an interview for an ER job here at a local trauma center...if I decide to do that it means I will be home and not going to the also means I don't get my summer off. Shifts will be 4 on 4 off but I am used to 90 off...LOL. Anyway, things might get rushed here and delay my launch a week or so.

I am in the same boat. Twins turned 10 yesterday and one of them (Aaron) is autistic. I find myself looking toward his future...not mine. He loves sailing so the boat stays. You would not believe how little it takes to bring a boat back. Elbow grease is the answer. I was so overwhelmed when I did mine but kept plugging at it until the wife could stand to look at her...funny but true. They are just as much fun to work on...I will be back home end of the Arctic phone number is 902 461 if you need some help, moral support etc....they are a good boat and safe....I'll tell you all I know.

    Thanks Rick,
I should be in the water in April also if all goes well. Last year we had a wonderful spring, however, the possibility for poor weather is a very real possibility here. Thanks for your comments on the albums. I took over 2000 pics last summer, sailed 2037 nautical miles....had a ball....may not be able to do the same this coming year .... will likely have to continue to work to pay for taking last summer off....LMAO

    Best Regards
